The family business
Three generations. Same address.
Nico Conti came to Bay Shore from Calabria in 1944. Four years later he opened a plumbing shop on Fifth Avenue. It wasn’t much — a truck, a toolbox, and word of mouth. He built his clientele one house at a time across Bay Shore, Babylon, and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Nico’s son Sal took over in 1971. Sal expanded into sewer work when the county modernized its infrastructure in the ’70s and ’80s. By the time Joe was old enough to swing a pipe wrench — summers starting at 13 — Conti Plumbing had three trucks running and a reputation across western Suffolk.
Joe got his master plumber’s license in 1998 and formalized the business as Bayshore Plumbing. Over 9,400 jobs since then. The shop still runs out of Bay Shore. The number still goes to someone who can actually send a plumber.

How we work
Honest diagnosis. No upsell. Same-day when we can.
We pull up. We look at it. We tell you what’s actually going on. Most days we fix it the same visit. If something unexpected comes up once we open the wall, we call you before we go further — never after.
We camera-scope drains before quoting so the price isn’t a guess. We stock common parts on the truck so we’re not making two trips on your emergency. We do permitted work because an un-inspected job is a problem for you at resale, not us.
Licensed NYS master plumber. $2M general liability. Suffolk County sewer contractor.
What we do
Every plumbing problem on Long Island.
Emergency Plumbing
Burst pipe, sewage backup, gas smell — we pick up at 2am and dispatch within 60 minutes for most of Suffolk County. You talk to a plumber, not a call center. We stock the parts that fail most often so we're not making two trips on your emergency.
Call nowDrain Clearing
Kitchen, bath, main sewer line. We camera-inspect before we quote so there are no surprises. Root intrusion, grease buildup, collapsed sections — we find the actual problem first and give you a straight answer.
Call nowWater Heater Repair & Replacement
Tank and tankless, all major brands. If it's repairable we repair it. If replacement makes more economic sense, we'll tell you with numbers, not pressure. Permits pulled, inspections scheduled, swap done same-day most of the time.
Call nowLeak Detection
Slab leaks, pipe sweating, hidden supply line leaks behind walls. We use pressure testing and non-invasive detection before any walls get opened. If access is required, you get a firm price before we start.
Call nowSewer & Water Main
Full sewer replacements, water main repairs, county-required inspections. We pull permits, work with Suffolk County DPW, and do the job right — not the fast cheap version that fails an inspection.
Call nowFixture & Appliance Install
Toilets, faucets, dishwashers, garbage disposals, washing machine hookups. Supply your own or we source it — same price either way. Done in one trip.

What customers say
Real jobs. Their words.
Pipe burst at 11pm on a Sunday. Joe answered, quoted me on the phone, had a guy here in 45 minutes. Damage was minimal because they moved so fast.
— Diane S., Bay Shore
Three plumbers told me I needed a full sewer replacement. Bayshore scoped it first, found a partial blockage, cleared it for $400. Saved me $8,000.
— Frank D., Lindenhurst
They installed our tankless water heater and pulled the permit. Inspector closed it out first try. That's how it's supposed to work.
— Diana S., Babylon
