Our story
Nico Conti came to Bay Shore from Calabria, Italy in 1944. He apprenticed with a local plumber, bought a truck, and opened Conti Plumbing on Fifth Avenue in 1948. He built his clientele one house at a time — word of mouth from Bay Shore out to Babylon, Amityville, and Lindenhurst.
His son Sal took over in 1971 and grew the business through the county’s infrastructure expansion in the ’70s and ’80s — sewer replacements, water main work, the jobs that required pulling permits and working with the county. Joe spent his summers on Sal’s trucks starting at age 13.
Joe earned his master plumber’s license in 1998 and renamed the business Bayshore Plumbing. He added a sewer division, a third truck, and a drain camera. What he kept was the operating model: upfront quotes, no upsell, pull the permits, clean up when you leave.
Most of Joe’s new calls come from the kids of people Sal and Nico worked for. That’s the clearest measure of whether a tradesman did right by people over 70 years.

Flat diagnostic fee, period. We don't stack a trip charge on top. You're not paying twice for us to walk in the door.
We pick up the phone
24/7. You talk to a person who can dispatch a plumber. Not a voicemail. Not an offshore call center.
We pull permits
Permitted work means an inspection. An inspection means the job was done to code. We don't skip permits because it's faster for us.
No upselling
If a repair makes sense, we repair it. If replacement is the honest answer, we'll tell you why — with numbers, not pressure.
We clean up
We work inside your home. We use drop cloths and we haul the debris. We leave the space the way we found it.
