What Happens If I Cancel?

Exactly what happens when you cancel — what you get, when you get it, what stays live, and what you lose.

You can cancel anytime. Here's exactly what happens, in order.

When you cancel

Email me at logan@garbackidigital.com or text (516) 749-7910. No portal, no form. Just tell me you're done.

Your site stays live until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel mid-month, you don't get a prorated refund — the site runs out the period you already paid for, then comes down.

What you receive within 10 business days

  • A ZIP export of your full site source code (Next.js)
  • Configuration files for deploying it elsewhere
  • Your chatbot configuration if you were on Standard or Pro
  • DNS details so you can point your domain wherever you want next

What you keep

Your domain. It's registered in your name and stays yours. I'll hand off full registrar access so you can manage renewals and DNS directly.

Your content. Everything on the site — text, photos, copy — belongs to you.

Your code. The site is yours to use, host, modify, or hand to another developer.

What stops

Hosting. I stop paying for the infrastructure that keeps your site live. If you want to stay online, you'll need to deploy the code somewhere — typically $5–20/month on a host like Vercel or Netlify.

Domain management. I stop handling renewals and DNS updates. Make sure you know when your domain renews before you cancel, so you don't lose it.

The chatbot. The AI chatbot runs on my infrastructure. When your plan ends, the chatbot stops responding. If you want to continue using it, you'd need to set up your own AI backend or find a third-party chatbot service. The config I export gives you the training data and prompts — a developer can migrate it.

No gotchas

No penalty fees. No minimum contract. No "you owe 3 months." Month-to-month means month-to-month.

If you come back later, current pricing applies at the time of re-enrollment. I don't hold previous pricing.

If you want to pause instead of cancel

No pause option currently. If you're on a tight stretch and need to come back in a few months, the cleanest path is to cancel, take the code export, and re-enroll when you're ready. The re-enrollment process is the same as the original signup.
